I don’t fully understand my mother’s worship of the Virgin Mary. Filipinos tend to be quite strict Roman Catholics. Every so often, this statue of the Virgin Mary will be brought to our house and my mother will say the rosary every evening it is in the house.
It frightens me when she asks me to say goodbye to it.
